See Taron Egerton Get Classic Wolverine Look To Replace Hugh Jackman

‘Kingsman’ star Taron Egerton joins the X-Men and replaces Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the new design.

An awesome new fan edit imagines Kingsman star Taron Egerton as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine replacement for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While fans eagerly await news about how the X-Men and the Fantastic Four will make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, this artwork depicts Kingsman star Taron Egerton replacing Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The concept design gives Egerton the iconic cowl that fans only got a glimpse of during a deleted scene from James Mangold’s X-Men spin-off The Wolverine. Mangold confirmed that Hugh Jackman didn’t even get to wear the costume, which obviously disappointed most X-Men fans.

The artwork comes from a digital artist known as ‘bobby_art’ on Instagram, and gives Kingsman star Taron Egerton a tactical, comic-accurate Wolverine costume to replace Hugh Jackman as the iconic X-Men member. The cowl features the classic pointed ears, which will no doubt instantly remind fans of both the comics and the legendary animated series. Jackman himself recently showed off a behind-the-scenes video of his Wolverine physique to celebrate X-Men’s 20th anniversary. The artist explained that he chose Egerton for his design since he’s “a good height and he has the acting range.” Take a look at the impressive design of the Kingsman star as Wolverine below.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed plans to include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con. However, the studio is reportedly in no rush to introduce the X-Men to the MCU, meaning it will likely be some time before we learn who will replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
