The ‘RoBeetle’ Has an Efficient, Beetle-Like Design
The ‘RoBeetle’ tiny robot is an efficient robotic solution crafted with a small design that will enable it to walk efficiently for extended periods using an unexpected fuel source. Powered by methanol, the robot requires no batteries and weighs in at just 88 milligrams to make it an ultra-lightweight solution that is impossibly compact. The robot walks thanks to its four legs that consist of two rear ones that are fixed and two in the front that are attached to a transmission to receive commands to move forward.
The ‘RoBeetle’ tiny robot is the design work of Nestor Perez-Arancibia, Xiufeng Yang and Longlong Chang at the University of Southern California, and is capable of running for 155 minutes on a full tank of methanol.
