Kim Kardashian kicked off this week’s hottest meme after her tone deaf family party on an island.
But as Twitter laughs at Kim, not with her, Khloe is riding her defense … insisting that Kim’s party was an act of “greatness.”
Have you seen any tweets that start with “After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle…” this week?
Unless it was Kim herself tweeting it, what you were seeing was a mockery of her own tone deaf display of wealth and privilege.
Khloe spoke about the controversy to a daytime talk show host who is no stranger to the subject, Ellen DeGeneres.
“I haven’t heard a lot about it,” Khloe claims while speaking to Ellen, as you can see in this clip.
“But,” she spins, “I did hear that people were upset that we all went out of town.”
“I don’t really know the extent of it,” Khloe alleges.
“But this year is a frustrating year,” Khloe acknowledges.
She, with an estimated net worth of $40 million, then claims: “I get it.”
“I think there’s so many frustrations going on for everybody,” Khloe says.
“But also it’s her 40th,” Khloe continues, like we’re just supposed to drop it.
She is speaking as if millions of people didn’t miss graduations, funerals, and actual childbirths.
“This is something that she wanted to do for us,” Khloe insists. “It was such a nice thing.”
Critics weren’t thinking only of how Kim’s Masque of the Red Death getaway mocked billions, but also of the service staff involved.
“Being there with all the precautions that we took,” Khloe begins, addressing that topic.
“And being there,” she continues, “and how grateful everyone was for the tourism aspect of it.”
“So many people said that we were their first party of guests that they’ve had in months,” Khloe says.
Yes, we would certainly hope so.
“And,” she continues, “what it’s done for them to be able to pay their bills or to be able to do stuff for their family.”
“Just hearing those messages when we were there,” Khloe expresses, “we felt really good.”
“And,” she adds, “we felt so safe.”
“We did it in the safest way I could imagine someone doing it,” Khloe insists, as if that were ever the point.
Khloe’s greatest concern seems to be about Kim’s feelings.
“It was such a beautiful experience,” she raves.
“And,” she emphasizes, “I want Kim to focus on just how beautiful it was and what she did for everybody.”
Here is when Khloe starts to sound a little bit like she’s in a cult that worships her sister.
“I don’t want that to overshadow all the greatness,” Khloe adds.
That’s just awkward phrasing.
Speaking of her own experiences from coming down with COVID-19 early this year, Khloe shares that it was not a mild case.
“I was really, really sick. I felt really quickly on that I was getting sick with something and I just wore a mask. I remember wearing gloves,” she recalls.
“It was speculation all about COVID, but no one really knew,” Khloe adds.
“But we were all like, ‘There’s no way that I could have COVID,'” Khloe notes.
“So I was still just really diligent, wearing masks,” she describes.
“We got tested, my whole family got tested,” Khloe says, “and they came back and my results were positive.”
“We were really alarmed but everyone else tested negative, so thank goodness,” Khloe says.
The hardest part, she notes, was having to quarantine away from sweet little True for 16 days.
“I don’t care how beautiful of a place you have, being taken away from your child for that long,” Khloe expresses, “because I couldn’t be around my daughter, that was the most heart wrenching thing.”
