Henry Cavill’s Superman Dons Max Fleischer-Inspired Suit In Cool Fan Art

Henry Cavill’s Superman gets an old-fashioned update!

Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel wears a suit inspired by the 1940s Max Fleischer Superman cartoons in a new concept design.

The first ever animated appearance of Superman occurred all the way back in the 1940s with the cartoons from Max Fleischer. The Superman cartoon would go on to have a long-lasting legacy and heavily influenced future DC shows like Batman: The Animated Series. Since then, Superman has also had several cinematic interpretations with Henry Cavill’s version being the most recent.

The Superman suits Henry Cavill has worn as Superman features a darker hue of the iconic blue and red color scheme, no underwear, and a slight change to the iconic “S” symbol on the chest. If Cavill returns as Superman in the DC Extended Universe, he could be given another costume makeover. A new piece of fan art from digital artist “jscomicart” on Instagram imagines Cavill’s Superman wearing a suit based on the iconic Max Fleischer cartoons. You can check out the concept art below.

Henry Cavill’s Superman will be featured in Zack Snyder’s Justice League next:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
