Jaguar Land Rover and Cambridge University Created a Touchless Screen
Jaguar Land Rover collaborated with Cambridge University in order to create a touchless screen that can be used in car displays. The new display system can be used to help keep diver’s attention on the road, as it eliminates the need for direct contact with the car controls and streamlines controls. The system works by using a gesture tracker, that works with eye-tracking and contextual information, in order to predict with the button the user would like to select.
Jaguar Land Rover and Cambridge researchers also stated that the touchless screen could also be used to help slow the spread of COVID-19 as it can be used without the need to physically y interact with a screen.
